Book Meme
Wow, I've never been tagged to post before. Siel tagged me to do this book thing. Sort of ironic, because as I was reading hers and the Worsted witch's I was thinking, "hmm, good thing I don't have to do this, I'd never be able to think of good answers." Little did I know she wanted me to do one too! I love to read, but the problem is that I have a horrible memory so two weeks after I've read a great book I can't remember for the life of me what it was about. And I've only read one book in the last 2 weeks, so it might be hard to answer these questions accurately. BTW, I'm the same way with movies. Sample conversation:
Me: "Oh that was a great movie!!
Anyone else: "Yea did you like part such and such?"
Me: "Umm, I don't remember that..."
So anyway, here goes. And just because I have bad answers, don't think I'm aningoramus ignoramus! (Thanks Siel)
A book that changed my life
Um. I'm usually incredibly inspired after I read a good book. Like I said, 2 weeks later I can't remember it, since I can't think of a book that changed my life, either I haven't read one or I forgot already. But I was really inspired after reading "A Walk In The Woods" by Bill Bryson.
A book I’ve read more than once
Ok, I can do this. Most recently I've read "Siddhartha" and "Skipping Christmas" again.
A book I’d take with me if I were stuck on a desert island
I get most of my books from the library, so I'd be screwed. But maybe "Siddhartha", seems appropriate.
A book that made me laugh
"New Rules" by Bill Maher. And I always find myself laughing when I read Bill Bryson books. They are simple and without a deep message, but amusing.
A book that made me cry
Hmm. I'm sure there is one. Well, (this is a stolen idea from someone else) if someone forced me to read the Bible I'd cry. Trying to recall... I remember "The God of Small Things" by Arundhati Roy being a sad book.
A book that I wish had been written
Anything good
A book that I wish had never been written
All the stupid fad diet books and political bashing books like Ann Coulter writes.
A book I’ve been meaning to read
Most recently I've wanted to read "The Lost Boy (It)". I've always thought since I loathe organized religion I should read the Bible, even though apparently it would make me cry. And I also would like to read some good classics, like "The Iliad", but reading is my relaxation time, and books like that take too much concentration...
I’m currently reading
Just finished "Half Asleep In Frog Pajamas" by Tom Robbins, started "The Satanic Verses" by Salman Rushdie, but can't seem to get into it, so I'm going to the library to try again.
Damn I have shallow tastes compared to all the other of these memes I've read. Gulp.
