Coincidence?

So, as I mentioned previously, I started my new job. The office is in Coronado, although in March we're moving downtown, to the NBC building, N-teenth floor (edited 8/2006 because someone googled my floor/my building and found my blog ... weird), west facing view of the ocean. Anyway, the current office is a little scattered, but my second day in there I saw this large print of a Matisse painting on the wall. Just a few weeks ago I finished the book Field Invalids Home From Hot Climates by Tom Robbins. If you've read the book, you'll probably remember that Matisse's Blue Nude painting is a major part of the book. If you've not read it, well, the painting is a major part of the book. Anyway, my second day of work it struck me that the print on the wall at work that I look at all day is that very painting talked about in the book. How ironic, huh? This also is one of the random things that I was talking about in this post.

13.1

Well, today I did it. Successfully ran the Carlsbad 1/2 Marathon. Have to say, I'm proud of myself. I've never even run a race before, but after 3 months of training, I ran 13.1 miles in a little over 2 hours. Not a great time, but the point is that I ran the whole thing. Well, almost, maybe 1/2 mile of walking, but who's counting?

New Job...

Started my new job this week. It's going to be very interesting... A lot of work though. But that's ok. But seeing as I used to do all my blogging at work and now I don't really have time, my extracurricular internet surfing has gone down almost to nothing. So I don't really feel like writing much. But maybe I'll update this weekend.

Sneaky Bastards

I hate marketing and business tactics, especially when they sucker me. I went into the
Coffee Bean to get a chai latte, and wanted a small. I ordered it, and he asked, "Regular or Large?" and I said "Regular". When he rang me up, I realized I had ordered a medium. Bastards!
